What We Do

Document Collection

• Regulatory Filings: We access central document repositories of major exchanges and regulators to obtain official filings and reports.

• Web Search of Corporate Reporting & Statements: Where central repositories do not contain certain reports (e.g., Sustainability Reports) and to gather all relevant information, we conduct web searches to gather for corporate disclosures and independent analyses.

Data Extraction

• Stewardship Data Extraction: Our models are trained to extract stewardship-specific information, such as meeting details, resolutions, related documents, and provide concise summaries to keep you informed.

• ESG Data Extraction: At the same time, our system scans all documents for hundreds of standardised Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data points, offering comprehensive insights into companies' practices. [See an example here.]

• Custom Data Extraction: In case where the decision-making should be based on custom data, those can be specified, and we scan all relevant document and extract these specific information (as we do for our ESG data, alongside transparent reasoning and references).

Data Enrichment

• Classification: We organise and categorise extracted data to make it more insightful and prepare it for later-stage evaluation.

• Industry intelligence: A lot of the data we gather has linkages to other data points, such as which asset managers voted for certain resolutions (alongside their rationale), as well as which filings refer to each other (e.g. filings of voting results, annual reports and proxy statements all refer to a specific meeting).

• Industry policies: We prepare industry-standard evaluation policies (e.g. Net-Zero Alignment Policy) to chose form and make sure we capture the relevant data points needed to evaluate those criteria with our Root Intelligence dataset.

• Set Your Criteria: From the beginning, our technology was designed to be able to evaluate custom criteria to reflect the subjectivity of sustainable investment and internal decision-making processes. We allow to define the exact parameters you want to evaluate. We will scan relevant documents for these criteria, ensuring the analysis aligns perfectly with your stewardship policies.

• Root Intelligence: All of our own proprietary data is available for evaluation, as well as any custom data points we were instructed to retrieve beforehand.

• Choose specific documents: Leverage any documents in our repository to support your analysis (e.g. to see exactly what is reported in a Climate Transition Plan)
